Bollywood singer Mika Singh recently opened up about his connection with Bollywood icon Salman Khan, sharing some light-hearted and entertaining anecdotes that speak to the strong relationship that exists between the two.
Late-Night Phone Calls from Salman Khan
Mika Singh talked about the habit of Salman Khan calling him late in the night, usually at 2:30 or 3:00 AM. In spite of the unusual time, Mika mentioned that Salman gets disturbed if he misses these calls, not thinking if the caller on the other side could be sleeping. Mika mentioned a particular instance when Salman had called him when he was abroad, enjoying his holidays, and had asked him to listen to his new tracks. These midnight calls are a reflection of their tight relationship and Salman’s own style of keeping in touch.
The ‘Jumme Ki Raat’ Story
While recording the song “Jumme Ki Raat” for Kick, Mika himself wasn’t satisfied with his rendition. But Salman Khan appreciated his rendition of the song. Following a tweet from Mika, Salman called him at midnight and played his own rendition of the song. Mika felt his own recording was going to be substituted, but the scenario went the other way around. Salman’s nephew liked Mika’s version better, so his voice stayed in the final song.
Modifying Lyrics at Salman’s Request
In another tale, Mika recounted that he had to modify the lyrics of a song at Salman’s behest. The lyrics originally referred to actress Katrina Kaif, but Salman requested that Mika replace her name with that of actress Jacqueline. Mika was more than willing to do so in deference to Salman’s wishes.
A Relationship Beyond Music
Mika Singh clarified that his friendship with Salman Khan is more than just professional partnerships. Salman is like a mentor and an elder brother to him. The two have a personal bond, fostered on mutual respect, trust, and a long history of friendship.
Their special and intimate relationship underscores the depth and depth of relationships possible in the entertainment world, where respect and empathy lead to lasting friendships.
