Producer Boney Kapoor’s daughter Anshula Kapoor and sister of Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor has been quite open about the emotional effect of online trolling on her younger sisters. Not one to seek the limelight very much, Anshula shared how emotionally affected she becomes when her sisters are attacked viciously and unfairly on social media.
During a recent interaction, Anshula has been in awe of the strength and grace with which Janhvi and Khushi handle constant public scrutiny. She explained that although her two sisters are in the limelight because they work in the entertainment field, it does not dilute the pain of getting trolled.
“It really gets to me sometimes,” Anshula owned up, explaining that despite trying to keep her chin up, witnessing her dear ones being unfairly attacked is mentally draining. She stressed that Janhvi and Khushi are two of the strongest women she knows and that their capacity for staying kind and calm in the face of criticism is admirable.
Constant Public Scrutiny
Janhvi Kapoor, who has acted in Dhadak, Gunjan Saxena, and Mili, finds herself much in the limelight of the media—be it for her work, fashion sense, public outings, or personal life. Khushi Kapoor, who made a recent entry into the limelight following her acting debut, also received preemptive trolling before the release of her first film.
Anshula feels that the stress of being in the limelight is usually underrated. She mentioned that although fans and supporters love to be provided with minute details about celebrities’ lives, very little concern is given to their psychological well-being or how public criticism affects their emotional well-being.
“People do not realize that celebrities are human beings first. They might seem glamorous on screen, but in reality, they get hurt, doubt themselves, and feel anxious like everybody else,” she added.
Sibling Bond and Support
Even though she is not a part of the film business herself, Anshula is very close to both Janhvi and Khushi. Over time, their rapport has become stronger, particularly after the death of their mother, acting legend Sridevi, in 2018. Anshula has been seen many times providing silent strength and emotional stability within the Kapoor household.
She positively spoke of their relationship, referring to her sisters as “brave, kind, and fiercely independent.” In Anshula’s view, the fact that they have been able to overcome negativity and remain grounded is something she highly regards.
Highlighting Positivity and Mental Health
At a point where online trolling has been somehow normalized, Anshula spoke about the need to promote positivity and consider the impact of words on others. She called on individuals to be more empathetic and responsible on social media.
“Little kindness goes a long way. You never know what’s going on behind someone’s smile,” she said on a hopeful and empathetic note.
Anshula’s words are a poignant reminder that fame is indeed visibility, but it brings vulnerabilities as well—something that even the strongest need assistance to navigate.
